  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to mining activities; repealing

  3         s. 552.30, F.S.; deleting provisions

  4         authorizing the State Fire Marshal to adopt

  5         standards for the use of explosives in

  6         conjunction with the mining of construction

  7         materials; deleting provisions authorizing the

  8         State Fire Marshall to establish statewide

  9         ground-vibration limits for the mining of

10         construction materials; eliminating the

11         authority of the State Fire Marshal to delegate

12         certain monitoring and enforcement duties;

13         providing an effective date.

15  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

16

17         Section 1.  Section 552.30, Florida Statutes, as

18  created by section 30 of chapter 2000-266, Laws of Florida, is

19  repealed.

20         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

21  law.

24                          SENATE SUMMARY

25    Repeals s. 552.30, F.S., which authorizes the State Fire
      Marshal to regulate the use of explosives in the mining
26    of construction materials. Removes the authority of the
      State Fire Marshall to establish statewide limits on
27    ground vibration and delegate certain monitoring and
      enforcement duties.
