11 The Committee on Judicial Oversight offered the following:

13 Amendment (with title amendment)
14 On page 7, line 25, after the period
15
16 insert: For the purposes of the pilot program, the Office of
17 State Courts Administrator shall conduct an evaluation of the
18 establishment, operation, and impact of the pilot program in
19 meeting the legal needs of dependent children. The Office of
20 State Courts Administrator shall submit a preliminary report
21 to the Legislature and Governor by October 1, 2003 and a final
22 report by October 1, 2004 which must include an evaluation of
23 the pilot program, findings on the feasibility of a statewide
24 program, and recommendations, if any, for locating,
25 establishing and operating a statewide program.
26 (6) The Office of Counsel for Children pilot program
27 will expire effective June 30, 2005 unless continued by action
28 of the Legislature.
