13 Amendment (with title amendment)
14 Remove from the bill: Everything after the enacting clause

16 and insert in lieu thereof:
17 Section 1. This act may be cited as the "School
18 Transportation Act of 2001."
19 Section 2. Paragraph (b) of subsection (1) of section
20 234.01, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
21 234.01 Transportation; when provided.--
22 (1) School boards, after considering recommendations
23 of the superintendent:
24 (b) Shall provide transportation for public elementary
25 school students in membership whose grade level does not
26 exceed grade 6, and may provide transportation, on a
27 space-available basis, for public middle and high school
28 students in membership in grades 6 7 through 12, if such
29 students are subjected to hazardous walking conditions as
30 provided in s. 234.021 while en route to or from school.
