14 On page 28, line 27, of the bill

16 after the period insert:
17 If a charter school or public school teacher has completed the
18 requirements in s. 231.17(2)(g), except the demonstration of
19 general knowledge of mathematics, that person may continue
20 employment as a teacher for the 3 years during which the
21 temporary certificate is valid, if the teacher does not teach
22 mathematics above the 4th-grade level and the teacher is
23 enrolled in a state-approved program designed to improve
24 mathematics skills. If the teacher has not completed the
25 mathematics requirement after 3 school years, the school
26 district may not continue to employ him or her in a position
27 for which a temporary certificate is required.
