13 Amendment to Amendment (913359) (with title amendment)
14 On page 1, between lines 16 and 17,

16 insert:
17 Section 1. Subsection (7) of section 373.139, Florida
18 Statutes, is amended to read:
19 373.139 Acquisition of real property.--
20 (7) The districts shall have the authority to
21 promulgate rules that include the specific process by which
22 land is acquired; the selection and retention of outside
23 appraisers, surveyors, and acquisition agents; and public
24 notification. Rules adopted pursuant to this subsection shall
25 be submitted to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of
26 the House of Representatives, for review by the Legislature,
27 no later than 30 days prior to the 2002 2001 Regular Session
28 and shall become effective only after legislative review. In
29 its review, the Legislature may reject, modify, or take no
30 action relative to such rules. The districts shall conform
31 such rules to changes made by the Legislature, or, if no
