  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to subsidized child care;

  3         amending s. 402.3015, F.S.; providing for

  4         families who may receive child care if funds

  5         appropriated are not projected to be spent on

  6         families with priority for receiving such care;

  7         providing a timeframe for distribution of

  8         funds; providing an effective date.

10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

12         Section 1.  Subsections (5) through (11) of section

13  402.3015, Florida Statutes, are renumbered as subsections (6)

14  through (12), respectively, and a new subsection (5) is added

15  to said section to read:

16         402.3015  Subsidized child care program; purpose; fees;

17  contracts.--

18         (5)  Funds that have been appropriated for but are not

19  projected to be spent on child care for families at risk of

20  abuse or neglect, or families at risk of welfare dependency,

21  receiving priority for subsidized child care under this

22  section or s. 411.01 shall be spent on child care for

23  income-eligible families. After receipt of a budget amendment

24  redirecting the child care funds, final action for

25  distribution of the funds pursuant to this subsection must

26  occur within 45 days.

27         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2001.

      neglect, or at risk of welfare dependency, receiving
  5    priority for such care may be spent on child care for

  6    for distribution of such funds.
