15         On page 28, line 6 through page 29, line 22, delete
16  those lines

18  and insert:  
19         Section 18.  Subsection (2) of section 458.315, Florida
20  Statutes, is amended to read:
21         458.315  Temporary certificate for practice in areas of
22  critical need.--Any physician who is licensed to practice in
23  any other state, whose license is currently valid, and who
24  pays an application fee of $300 may be issued a temporary
25  certificate to practice in communities of Florida where there
26  is a critical need for physicians.  A certificate may be
27  issued to a physician who will be employed by a county health
28  department, correctional facility, community health center
29  funded by s. 329, s. 330, or s. 340 of the United States
30  Public Health Services Act, or other entity that provides
31  health care to indigents and that is approved by the State

SENATE AMENDMENT Bill No. CS for SB 1558, 1st Eng. Amendment No. ___ Barcode 590086 1 Health Officer. The Board of Medicine may issue this 2 temporary certificate with the following restrictions: 3 (2) The board may administer an abbreviated oral 4 examination to determine the physician's competency, but no 5 written regular examination is necessary. Within 60 days after 6 receipt of an application for a temporary certificate, the 7 board shall review the application and issue the temporary 8 certificate or notify the applicant of denial. 9 Section 19.
