13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
14         On page 1, line 31, after the colon,
15  
16  insert:  
17         Section 1.  Section 196.202, Florida Statutes, is
18  amended to read:
19         196.202  Property of widows, widowers, blind persons,
20  and persons totally and permanently disabled.--Property to the
21  value of $500 of every widow, widower, blind person, or
22  totally and permanently disabled person who is a bona fide
23  resident of this state shall be exempt from taxation. As used
24  in this section, the term "totally and permanently disabled
25  person" means a person who is currently certified by a
26  physician licensed in this state, by the United States
27  Department of Veterans Affairs or its predecessor, or by the
28  Social Security Administration to be totally and permanently
29  disabled.
