  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to classification and sale of

  3         eggs and poultry; amending s. 583.052, F.S.;

  4         providing that the Department of Agriculture

  5         and Consumer Services shall discontinue its

  6         participation in any agreement with the Federal

  7         Government regarding the grading of eggs and

  8         poultry by a specified date; providing an

  9         effective date.

11  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

13         Section 1.  Section 583.052, Florida Statutes, is

14  amended to read:

15         583.052  Cooperation by the department with other state

16  or federal agencies.--The department is authorized and

17  empowered to cooperate with, and enter into agreements with,

18  any other agency of this state, the United States Department

19  of Agriculture, the Food and Drug Administration, and any

20  other state or federal agency for the purpose of carrying out

21  the provisions of this chapter or other related state or

22  federal laws. By June 30, 2002, the department shall

23  discontinue its participation in any agreement with the

24  Federal Government regarding the grading of eggs and poultry.

25         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2001.
