  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the City of Satellite Beach,

  3         Brevard County; amending s. 1 of the city's

  4         charter; redefining the boundaries of the city;

  5         providing an effective date.

  7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  8

  9         Section 1.  Section 1 of the Charter of the City of

10  Satellite Beach is amended to read:

11         Section 1.  City boundaries defined.

12         The city shall embrace and include and have

13  jurisdiction over all that territory in Brevard County

14  described as follows:

15

16         Commence at the intersection of the easterly extension

17  of the south line of Section 1, Township 27 South, Range 37

18  East, Brevard County, Florida, and the low water mark of the

19  Atlantic Ocean and thence run westerly along the south line of

20  Section 1 and Section 2 to the southwest corner of the

21  southeast one-quarter of Section 2;

23         Thence, run northerly along the west line of the

24  southeast one-quarter of said Section 2 to the northwest

25  corner of the southwest one-quarter of the southeast

26  one-quarter of said Section 2;

27

28         Thence, run westerly along the south line of the

29  northeast one-quarter of the southwest one-quarter of Section

30  2 to the southwest corner of the northeast one-quarter of the

31  southwest one-quarter of Section 2;

  2         Thence, run northerly along the west line of the

  3  northeast one-quarter of the southwest one-quarter of Section

  4  2 and continue along the west line of the east one-half of the

  5  northwest one-quarter of Section 2 to a point 825.0 feet south

  6  of the north line of Section 2, Township 27 South, Range 37

  7  East;

  9         Thence, run westerly parallel with the north line of

10  said Section 2, 564.0 feet;

11

12         Thence, run northerly parallel with the east line of

13  the northwest one-quarter of the northwest one-quarter of said

14  Section 2, to the north line of said Section 2, Township 27

15  South, Range 37 East;

16

17         Thence, run westerly along the north line of Section 2

18  and Section 3, to the channel of the Banana River;

19

20         Thence, run northerly along the channel of said Banana

21  River to a point lying on the westerly extension of the north

22  line of Government Lot 4 lying in Section 27, Township 26

23  South, Range 37 East;

25         Thence, run easterly along the north line of Government

26  Lot 4 and its westerly extension to a point lying on the

27  center line of the mosquito control canal lying in said

28  Government Lot 4;

  1         Thence, run southerly along the center line of said

  2  mosquito control canal to a point lying on the north line of

  3  Section 34, Township 26 South, Range 37 East;

  5         Thence, run easterly along the north line of Section 34

  6  and Section 35 to the west line of the right-of-way Government

  7  Lot 3 lying east of State Road A1A, Brevard County, Florida;

  8

  9         Thence, run northerly along the west line of the

10  right-of-way Government Lot 3 and Government Lot 2, east of

11  State Road A1A to the south line of the north 1334.20 of

12  Government Lot 1, west of State Road A1A;

13

14         Thence, run easterly along said south line of the north

15  1334.20 of Government Lot 1 to the low water mark of the

16  Atlantic Ocean north line of Government Lot 2, east of State

17  Road A1A;

19         Thence, run southerly along the east lines of

20  Government Lots 2 and 3 to the intersection of easterly

21  extension of the north line of Section 35 and the low water

22  mark of the Atlantic Ocean;

23

24         Thence, run southerly along the low water mark of the

25  Atlantic Ocean to the point of beginning.

26         Section 2.  This act shall take effect January 1, 2002.
