  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to enterprise zone designation;

  3         requiring designation of an enterprise zone in

  4         the City of Hialeah under certain circumstances

  5         notwithstanding certain limitations; providing

  6         requirements; providing an effective date.

  8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  9

10         Section 1.  Notwithstanding the limitation in s.

11  290.065, Florida Statutes, on numbers of enterprise zones

12  within a population category, the Office of Tourism, Trade,

13  and Economic Development shall designate, upon joint

14  application by Miami-Dade County and the City of Hialeah, an

15  area within the municipality of the City of Hialeah, bounded

16  by 32nd Street, 21st Street, Palm Avenue, and East 4th Avenue,

17  as an enterprise zone. Such application must be submitted by

18  June 1, 2001, and shall comply with the requirements of s.

19  290.0055, Florida Statutes. The effective date of such

20  enterprise zone shall be July 1, 2001.

21         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

22  law.
