14 On page 45, between lines 16 & 17, of the amendment
15
16 insert:
17 Section 10. (1) The Legislature adopts the Ingenix
18 Customized Fee Analyzer for the year 2000 as the official fee
19 schedule for reimbursement for magnetic resonance imaging
20 services under this section. The Ingenix Customized Fee
21 Analyzer for the year 2000 shall be maintained by the
22 Department of Insurance as a public record.
23 (2) Charges for medically necessary magnetic resonance
24 imaging services may not exceed 75 percent of the Ingenix
25 Customized Fee Analyzer for the zip code in Florida where the
26 procedure is performed for the year 2000 plus annual increases
27 equal to medical consumer price index for Florida, except in
28 Miami-Dade County and in Broward County. For those zip codes,
29 fees shall be reimbursed at 50 percent of the Ingenix
30 Customized Fee Analyzer for the zip codes covering Miami-Dade
31 County and Broward County. Procedures not reimbursed under the

1 Ingenix Customized Fee Analyzer shall not be reimbursed for
2 magnetic resonance imaging centers or magnetic resonance
3 imaging leasing companies in this state to reduce costs and
4 prevent fraud.
5 (a) This subparagraph shall not apply to charges for
6 magnetic resonance imaging services billed and collected by
7 facilities licensed or reporting under chapter 395, chapter
8 400, chapter 458, chapter 459, chapter 460, or chapter 461,
9 Florida Statutes.
10 (b) One copy each of the Ingenix Customized Fee
11 Analyzer for each zip code in Florida for the year 2000 shall
12 be kept on file at the Department of Insurance and shall be
13 available for review during normal business hours.
