11  Senator Peaden moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
14         On page 4, line 15, through
15            page 5, line 3, delete those lines
16  
17  and insert:  
18         7.2  Option to Withdraw from Civil Service. Upon the
19  effective date of this act, the Supervisor of Elections, the
20  Tax Collector, the Property Appraiser, the Clerk of the Court,
21  and the District School Board may elect by a majority vote of
22  the governing body, or for the four county constitutional
23  officers specified herein, by written notice to the Civil
24  Service Board, to withdraw from the Civil Service system, in
25  which case the local board or county constitutional officer
26  shall be exempt from the provisions of chapter 83-405, Laws of
27  Florida, as amended in all its parts. Additional Positions
28  Eligible for Exemption.  In addition to those positions
29  described in paragraphs (a) through (s) in subsection 7.1, the
30  following positions may, by rule of the Board, also be exempt
31  from the career Civil Service:
