13 Amendment (with title amendment)
14 Remove from the bill: Everything after the enacting clause

16 and insert in lieu thereof:
17 Section 1. Subsection (3) is added to section 381.003,
18 Florida Statutes, to read:
19 381.003 Communicable disease and AIDS prevention and
20 control.--
21 (3) The department shall by rule adopt the blood-borne
22 pathogen standard set forth in subpart Z of 29 C.F.R. part
23 1910, as amended by Pub. L. No. 106-430, which shall be
24 applicable to all public sector employers. The department
25 shall compile and maintain a list of existing needleless
26 systems and sharps with engineered sharps injury protection
27 that shall be available to assist employers, including the
28 department and the Department of Corrections, in complying
29 with the applicable requirements of the blood-borne pathogen
30 standard. The list may be developed from existing sources of
31 information, including, but not limited to, the United States

5 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2001.

21 information by the department for use by
22 employers; providing an effective date.
