  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to employment screening;

  3         requiring administrators of medical clinics to

  4         successfully complete level 1 background

  5         screening; providing for payment of screening

  6         costs; providing an effective date.

  8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  9

10         Section 1.  An entity that owns or operates a medical

11  clinic shall require each person hired as an administrator in

12  that clinic on or after the effective date of this act to

13  successfully complete a background screening using the level 1

14  standards described in section 435.03, Florida Statutes. The

15  employer entity is responsible for the costs of the screening.

16         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2001.

20    Directs the owner or operator of a medical clinic to
