  1                    Senate Resolution No. ____

  2         A resolution recognizing the 25th anniversary

  3         of the College of Veterinary Medicine of the

  4         University of Florida.

  6         WHEREAS, the College of Veterinary Medicine of the

  7  University of Florida has graduated more than 1,700

  8  veterinarians since its establishment in 1976, and

  9         WHEREAS, the faculty and alumni have discovered many

10  ways to improve human and animal medicine, the environment,

11  food production, and public health, and

12         WHEREAS, the College of Veterinary Medicine, through

13  its Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital and its diagnostic

14  services, extensive research programs, and continuing

15  education programs, provides practical research for animal and

16  agricultural industries, and

17         WHEREAS, the graduates of the College of Veterinary

18  Medicine provide comprehensive veterinary care, including

19  preventative medicine, diagnoses, and the appropriate use of

20  drugs and surgery to the state's animal populations, NOW,

21  THEREFORE,

23  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:

24

25         That the Florida Senate commends the College of

26  Veterinary Medicine of the University of Florida on its 25th

27  anniversary and for its contributions to the health and

28  welfare of the state's animal populations.
