14 Remove from the bill: Everything after the enacting clause

16 and insert in lieu thereof:
17 Section 1. For the period beginning at 12:01 a.m.,
18 July 28, 2001, and through midnight, August 6, 2001, taxes
19 levied under chapter 212, Florida Statutes, shall have
20 extraordinary administration and be collected in the following
21 manner:
22 (a) No tax levied under the provisions of chapter 212,
23 Florida Statutes, shall be collected on sales of clothing,
24 wallets, or bags, including handbags, backpacks, fanny packs,
25 and diaper bags, but excluding briefcases, suitcases, and
26 other garment bags, having a selling price of $100 or less,
27 during the period from 12:01 a.m., August 4, 2001, through
28 midnight, August 5, 2001.
29 (b) Taxes administered on sales of clothing, wallets
30 or bags, including handbags, backpacks, fanny packs, and
31 diaper bags, but excluding briefcases, suitcases, and other

1 garment bags, having a selling price of $100 unless during the
2 period from 12:01 a.m., July 28, 2001 through midnight, August
3 4, 2001, shall be collected as stated in chapter 212, Florida
4 Statutes, except that such revenues shall be designated to
5 restore funding to individuals, including individuals over 21
6 years of age, who qualify to receive adult dental, visual and
7 hearing services under the state Medicaid program.
8 (c) As used in this section, "clothing" means any
9 article of wearing apparel, including all footwear, except
10 skis, swim fins, in-line skates, and other skates, intended to
11 be worn on or about the human body. For purposes of this
12 section, "clothing" does not include watches, watchbands,
13 jewelry, umbrellas, or handkerchiefs.
14 (d) This section does not apply to sales within a
15 theme park or entertainment complex, as defined by s.
16 509.013(9), Florida Statutes, within a public lodging
17 establishment, as defined by s. 509.013(4), Florida Statutes,
18 or within an airport, as defined by s. 330.27(2), Florida
19 Statutes.
20 (e) The provisions of chapter 120, Florida Statutes,
21 to the contrary notwithstanding, the Department of Revenue may
22 adopt rules to carry out this section.
23 Section 2. The sum of $200,000 is appropriated from
24 the General Revenue Fund to the Department of Revenue for the
25 purpose of administering this act.
26 Section 3. This act shall take effect upon becoming a
27 law.
