  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to growth management; providing

  3         that the Legislature intends to enact

  4         legislation to amend chapters 163 and 380,

  5         F.S., relating to the state's system of growth

  6         management; providing an effective date.

  8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  9

10         Section 1.  It is the intent of the Legislature to

11  amend chapters 163 and 380, Florida Statutes, to revise the

12  state's growth management system, including, but not limited

13  to, providing for streamlined state review of local government

14  comprehensive plans; providing a rural policy; encouraging

15  citizen input in comprehensive planning by local governments;

16  encouraging urban infill and redevelopment; targeting state

17  infrastructure dollars; modifying the development of the

18  regional impact process; and defining the appropriate roles of

19  local, regional, and state government in the state's growth

20  management system.

21         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

22  law.
