15         On page 1, line 13, of the bill

17  insert:  
18         Section 1.  Subsections (8) and (9) are added to
19  section 484.002, Florida Statutes, to read:
20         484.002  Definitions.--As used in this part:
21         (8)  "Contact lens" means a prescribed medical device
22  intended to be worn directly against the cornea of the eye to
23  correct vision conditions, act as a therapeutic device, or
24  provide a cosmetic effect.
25         (9)  "Optical dispensing" means interpreting but not
26  altering a prescription of a licensed physician or optometrist
27  and designing, adapting, fitting, or replacing the prescribed
28  optical aids, pursuant to such prescription, to or for the
29  intended wearer; duplicating lenses accurately as to power
30  without a prescription; and duplicating nonprescription
31  eyewear and parts of eyewear.  "Optical dispensing" does not

 2  optical aid to the wearer after an optician has completed
 3  fitting it, or providing instruction in the general care and
 4  use of an optical aid, including placement, removal, hygiene,
