  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to a public records exemption

  3         for certain information obtained by the

  4         direct-support organization authorized to

  5         assist in the promotion of sports-related

  6         industries; amending s. 288.12295, F.S., which

  7         provides an exemption from public records

  8         requirements for the identity of donors and

  9         prospective donors to the direct-support

10         organization; reenacting such exemption and

11         removing the October 2, 2001, repeal thereof

12         scheduled under the Open Government Sunset

13         Review Act of 1995; providing an effective

14         date.

16  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

18         Section 1.  Notwithstanding the October 2, 2001, repeal

19  of said section scheduled pursuant to the Open Government

20  Sunset Review Act of 1995, section 288.12295, Florida

21  Statutes, is reenacted and amended to read:

22         288.12295  Promotion and development of sports-related

23  industries; direct-support organization; confidentiality of

24  donor identities.--The identity of a donor or prospective

25  donor to the direct-support organization authorized under s.

26  288.1229 who desires to remain anonymous and all information

27  identifying such donor or prospective donor are confidential

28  and exempt from s. 119.07(1) and s. 24(a), Art. I of the State

29  Constitution.  Such anonymity shall be maintained in audit

30  reports.  This section expires October 2, 2001, and is subject

31  to review by the Legislature under the Open Government Sunset

  1  Review Act of 1995 in accordance with s. 119.15 before that

  2  date.

  3         Section 2.  This act shall take effect October 1, 2001.
