15         On page 8, line 24, through page 13, line 24, delete
16  those lines

18  and insert:  
19         Section 10.  Section 641.183, Florida Statutes, is
20  created to read:
21         641.183  Statutory accounting procedures; transition
22  provisions.--All health maintenance organizations, authorized
23  to do business under this chapter on January 1, 2001, shall
24  elect a transition method for compliance with statutory
25  accounting principles as follows:
26         (1)  Report assets acquired prior to June 30, 2001, in
27  accordance with s. 641.35, Florida Statutes at December 31,
28  2000, through December 31, 2005. Assets acquired on or after
29  July 1, 2001, shall be accounted for in accordance with the
30  National Association of Insurance Commissioners Accounting
31  Practices and Procedures Manual effective January 1, 2001, and

A health maintenance 2 organization electing to report assets pursuant to this 3 subsection shall maintain complete and detailed records 4 reflecting such accounting treatment; or 5 (2) Report all assets in accordance with the NAIC 6 Accounting Practices and Procedures Manual effective January 7 1, 2001, and subsequent amendments thereto. 8 Section 11.
