12  offered the following:

14         Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         On page 2, lines 4-17,

18  and insert in lieu thereof:  
19         (b)  There is imposed upon each hospital an assessment
20  in an amount equal to 1 0.5 percent of the annual net
21  operating revenue for outpatient services for each hospital,
22  such revenue to be determined by the agency, based on the
23  actual experience of the hospital as reported to the
24  agency.  While prior year report worksheets may be reconciled
25  to the hospital's audited financial statements, no additional
26  audited financial components may be required for the purposes
27  of determining the amount of the assessment imposed pursuant
28  to this section other than those in effect on July 1,
29  2000.  Within 6 months after the end of each hospital fiscal
30  year, the agency shall certify the amount of the assessment
31  for each hospital.  The assessment shall be payable to and

 1  collected by the agency in equal quarterly amounts, on or
 2  before the first day of each calender quarter, beginning with
 3  the first full calendar quarter that occurs after the agency
 4  certifies the amount of the assessment for each hospital.  All
 5  moneys collected pursuant to this subsection shall be
 6  deposited into the Public Medical Assistance Trust Fund.
