14 On page 2, line 24 through page 3, line 23,
15 remove from the bill: said lines

17 and insert in lieu thereof:
18 Section 2. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is
19 authorized and directed to draw a warrant in the sum of
20 $1,800,000, less amounts payable pursuant to section 3,
21 payable to Angela Jones and Raymond Ferguson individually and
22 as the personal representatives of the estate of Kharmilia
23 Ferguson, as compensation for injuries and damages sustained
24 by Kharmilia Ferguson, Angela Jones and Raymond Ferguson. The
25 claimants shall pay to the estate of Kharmilia Ferguson an
26 amount sufficient to cover any additional liens and all
27 expenses of the estate and the remaining funds shall be
28 distributed in equal amounts to Mr. Ferguson and Ms. Jones.
29 Section 3. The governmental entity responsible for
30 payment of the warrant shall pay to the Florida Agency for
31 Health Care Administration the amount due under section

1 409.910, Florida Statutes, prior to disbursing any funds to
2 the claimant. The amount due the agency shall be equal to all
3 unreimbursed medical payments paid by Medicaid on behalf of
4 Ms. Ferguson up to the date upon which this act becomes a law.

10 remove from the title of the bill: said lines

12 and insert in lieu thereof:
13 for the relief of injuries of Kharmilia
14 Ferguson, and Angela Jones and Raymond
15 Ferguson; providing for an appropriation to
16 compensate the estate of Kharmilia Ferguson,
17 Angela Jones, and Raymond Ferguson for injuries
18 and damages sustained; specifying use of funds;
19 providing for reimbursement of Medicaid
20 expenditures; providing an effective date.
