1 A bill to be entitled
2 An act relating to the re-creation of the
3 Federal Law Enforcement Trust Fund without
4 modification; re-creating the trust fund;
5 carrying forward current balances and
6 continuing current sources and uses thereof;
7 repealing s. 372.107(3), F.S., which provides
8 for the future termination of the trust fund;
9 providing an effective date.

11 WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to extend the life of
12 the Federal Law Enforcement Trust Fund, which is otherwise
13 scheduled to be terminated pursuant to constitutional mandate,
14 and
15 WHEREAS, the Legislature has reviewed the trust fund
16 before its scheduled termination date and has found that it
17 continues to meet an important public purpose, and
18 WHEREAS, the Legislature has found that existing public
19 policy concerning the trust fund sets adequate parameters for
20 its use, NOW, THEREFORE,

22 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

24 Section 1. (1) The Federal Law Enforcement Trust Fund
25 within the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, FLAIR
26 Number 77-2-719, which was created by chapter 98-391, Laws of
27 Florida, and which is to be terminated pursuant to Section
28 19(f), Article III of the State Constitution on July 1, 2002,
29 is re-created.

1 (2) All current balances of the trust fund are carried
2 forward, and all current sources and uses of the trust fund
3 are continued.
4 Section 2. Subsection (3) of section 372.107, Florida
5 Statutes, is repealed.
6 Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2002.
