13         Amendment to Amendment (901589) (with title amendment) 
14         On page 4, between lines 11 and 12, of the amendment
15  
16  insert:  
17         Section 2.  Section 514.075, Florida Statutes, is
18  amended to read:
19         514.075  Public Pool service technician;
20  certification.--The department may require that a public pool,
21  as defined in s. 514.011, or a residential pool or spa when
22  serviced by an independent contractor, be serviced by a person
23  certified as a pool service technician.  To be certified, an
24  individual must demonstrate knowledge of public pools which
25  includes, but is not limited to:  pool cleaning; general pool
26  maintenance; source of the water supply; bacteriological,
27  chemical, and physical quality of water; and water
28  purification, testing, treatment, and disinfection procedures.
29  The department may, by rule, establish the requirement for the
30  certification course and course approval.  The department
31  shall deem certified any individual who is certified by a

 1  course of national recognition or any person authorized to
 2  service pools and spas licensed under s. 489.105(3)(j), (k),
 3  or (l).  This requirement does not apply to a person, or the
 4  direct employee of a person, permitted as a public pool
 5  operator under s. 514.031.
