  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to insurance; amending s.

  3         626.221, F.S.; exempting an applicant for a

  4         license as an adjuster from examination

  5         requirements under certain conditions;

  6         providing an effective date.

  8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  9

10         Section 1.  Paragraph (m) is added to subsection (2) of

11  section 626.221, Florida Statutes, to read:

12         626.221  Examination requirement; exemptions.--

13         (2)  However, no such examination shall be necessary in

14  any of the following cases:

15         (m)  An applicant for license as an adjuster who has

16  the designation of Accredited Claims Adjuster (ACA) from a

17  regionally accredited postsecondary institution in this state.

18         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2001.

21                          SENATE SUMMARY

22    Provides that an applicant for license as an adjuster who
      has the designation of Accredited Claims Adjuster from a
23    regionally accredited postsecondary institution in this
      state is not required to take and pass a written
24    examination administered by the Department of Insurance.
