14 On page 124, between lines 7 and 8 of the bill

16 insert:
17 Section 78. Effective July 1, 2001, section 860.146,
18 Florida Statutes, is created to read:
19 860.146 Motor vehicle replacement airbags.--
20 (1) It is unlawful for any person to install or
21 reinstall in a motor vehicle any object in lieu of a new or
22 salvaged airbag that was designed in accordance with federal
23 safety standards for the make, model, and year of that vehicle
24 as part of a motor vehicle inflatable restraint system. Any
25 person who violates this section commits a felony of the
26 second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s.
27 775.083, or s. 775.084.
28 (2) The provisions of s. 860.145(2), (3), and (4)(b)
29 apply to this section.

11 felony penalty; providing for application of
12 certain recordkeeping requirements and
13 penalties;
