14 Amendment
15 On page 1, between lines 23 and 24, of the bill
16
17 insert:
18 Section 2. Subsection (9) of section 2 of chapter
19 80-585, Laws of Florida, as amended by 89-424, Laws of
20 Florida, is amended to read:
21 (9) To establish uniform standards which shall be
22 equal to or stricter than those provided in Chapter 401,
23 Florida Statutes, insofar as it relates to Emergency Medical
24 Services and the Department of Health and Rehabilitative
25 Services EMS Rules, Chapter 10D-66, as they exist and may
26 hereafter be amended and to provide for the enforcement of
27 same. The authority has the power to establish levels of
28 service for all emergency medical services that must be met by
29 EMS providers; provided that levels of service on or after the
30 effective date of this act may not be lower than levels of
31 service as of January 1, 1989, without the consent of the

1 affected EMS providers; and provided further that an EMS
2 provider may not be required to increase its level of service
3 to a level of service established by the authority that
4 results in the authority reducing the payment of reimbursable
5 costs to EMS providers because the total reimbursable costs
6 would exceed the 1.5 millage authorized by this act.
