11  The Committee on Local Government & Veterans Affairs offered
12  the following:

14         Amendment 
15         On page 7, lines 13-25,
16  remove from the bill:  all of said lines
17  
18  and insert in lieu thereof:  
19         (1)  The board shall have the authority to evaluate
20  ADMINISTRATION.--Palm Beach County and each unit of local
21  government within Palm Beach County shall have the option to
22  direct inquiries concerning new or existing products or
23  systems, in accordance with section 553.842, Florida Statutes,
24  and the Florida Building Commission's rules adopted thereunder
25  to the board.  The board shall act as a clearing house for new
26  or different products or systems, by evaluating them based on
27  the current model codes and any amendments or revisions, being
28  recommended for adoption by the board.  The board is
29  authorized to may issue evaluation and compliance reports for
30  products and systems found to be in compliance, as provided by
31  policies established by the board. Recommendations and

 2  products or systems shall be advisory in nature for the
 3  municipalities within Palm Beach County and shall not form the
 4  basis of a local or statewide approval pursuant to section
 5  553.842, Florida Statutes.
