  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the state lottery; amending

  3         s. 24.115, F.S.; providing that unclaimed prize

  4         money shall be distributed to the public

  5         schools, community colleges, and universities

  6         on a pro rata basis based on enrollment;

  7         providing an effective date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11         Section 1.  Subsection (2) of section 24.115, Florida

12  Statutes, is amended to read:

13         24.115  Payment of prizes.--

14         (2)  All unclaimed prize money shall be distributed

15  annually to the public schools, public community colleges, and

16  state universities on a pro rata basis based on the number of

17  full-time students enrolled at each institution added to the

18  pool from which future prizes are to be awarded or used for

19  special prize promotions.

20         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2001.
