11  Senator Brown-Waite moved the following amendment to
12  substitute amendment (680820):

14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         On page 6, between lines 6 and 7,
16  
17  insert:  
18         Section 4.  The Agency for Health Care Administration
19  shall provide for the development of a demonstration project
20  by establishing in Miami-Dade County a long-term care
21  facility, licensed under chapter 395, Florida Statutes. The
22  purpose of the demonstration project shall be to improve
23  access to health care for a predominantly minority, medically
24  underserved, and medically complex population and to evaluate
25  alternatives to nursing home care and general acute care for
26  this population. The demonstration project shall be located in
27  a health care condominium and colocated with licensed
28  facilities providing for a continuum of care. The
29  establishment of this project is not subject to section
30  408.036 or section 408.039, Florida Statutes. The Agency for
31  Health Care Administration shall report on the demonstration

18         the Legislature;
