14 On page 14, between lines 10 and 11, of the bill
15
16 insert:
17 Section 7. Section 497.259, Florida Statutes, is
18 created to read:
19 497.259 Permanent labels on containers used for final
20 disposition or inurnment of human remains.--
21 (1) All permanent outer burial receptacles, caskets,
22 and urns must be affixed with a permanent label identifying
23 the full name of the deceased and the date of death.
24 (2)(a) Labels on permanent outer burial receptacles
25 must be placed in a conspicuous location.
26 (b) Labels on caskets must be placed in a conspicuous
27 location on the interior and exterior. Labels on caskets must
28 be attached prior to the funeral if a funeral is held.
29 (c) Labels on urns must be placed on or attached to
30 any location on the urn. Labels must also be placed inside
31 the urn.

1 Section 8. Subsections (1) and (2) of section 497.309,
2 Florida Statutes, are amended to read:
3 497.309 Records.--
4 (1)(a) A record shall be kept of every burial in the
5 cemetery of a cemetery company, showing the date of burial and
6 the name of the person buried, together with lot, plot, and
7 space, and location as specified in paragraph (b) in which the
8 burial was made.
9 (b) The location of each open grave prior to the
10 burial of a casket or permanent outer burial receptacle shall
11 be determined and recorded to within a meter or less of the
12 center of the burial site.
13 (2)(a) All financial records of the cemetery company
14 shall be available at its principal place of business in this
15 state and shall be readily available at all reasonable times
16 for examination by the department.
17 (b)(2) Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraph (a)
18 subsection (1), the board may, upon request, authorize a
19 cemetery company to maintain its financial records at a
20 location other than its principal place of business and may,
21 if necessary, require the company to make its books, accounts,
22 records, and documents available at a reasonable and
23 convenient location in this state.
