  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the Crime Stoppers Trust

  3         Fund; amending s. 16.555, F.S.; providing

  4         directives for use of moneys in the fund;

  5         providing an effective date.

  7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  8

  9         Section 1.  Subsection (3) of section 16.555, Florida

10  Statutes, is amended to read:

11         16.555  Crime Stoppers Trust Fund; rulemaking.--

12         (3)(a)  The department shall establish a trust fund for

13  the purpose of grant administration to fund Crime Stoppers and

14  their crime fighting programs within the units of a local

15  government of the state.

16         (b)  For the 2001-2002 fiscal year only, the use of

17  funds allocated to the Crime Stoppers Trust Fund shall be as

18  provided in Senate Bill 110-B or similar legislation. This

19  paragraph expires July 1, 2002.

20         Section 2.  This act shall take effect January 1, 2002.
