  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to specialty license plates;

  3         amending ss. 320.08056 and 320.08058, F.S.;

  4         providing for a United We Stand license plate;

  5         providing for a use fee; directing the

  6         Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles

  7         to develop a United We Stand license plate;

  8         providing for the distribution and use of fees;

  9         providing that the license plates shall not be

10         subject to s. 320.08053, F.S.; providing an

11         effective date.

13  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

15         Section 1.  Paragraph (ff) is added to subsection (4)

16  of section 320.08056, Florida Statutes, to read:

17         320.08056  Specialty license plates.--

18         (4)  The following license plate annual use fees shall

19  be collected for the appropriate specialty license plates:

20         (ff)  United We Stand license plate, $25.

21         Section 2.  Subsection (32) is added to section

22  320.08058, Florida Statutes, to read:

23         320.08058  Specialty license plates.--

24         (32)  UNITED WE STAND LICENSE PLATES.--

25         (a)  The department shall develop a United We Stand

26  license plate as provided in this section. The United States

27  Flag must appear on the license plate in addition to the words

28  "United We Stand." The colors of the licenses plate must be

29  red, white, and blue.

30         (b)  The department shall retain all revenues from the

31  sale of the license plates until all startup costs for

  1  developing and issuing the plates have been recovered.

  2  Thereafter, the annual fee shall be deposited in the General

  3  Revenue Fund of the state to be appropriated by the

  4  Legislature for efforts to combat terrorism.

  5         (c)  The provisions of s. 320.08053 shall not apply

  6  with respect to the United We Stand license plates.

  7         Section 3.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

  8  law.
