  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to compensation of members of

  3         the Legislature; prescribing the salary rate

  4         for members; providing an expiration date and

  5         an effective date.

  7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  8

  9         Section 1.  Notwithstanding paragraph 11.13(1)(b),

10  Florida Statutes, or any other law, the salary of members of

11  the Senate and House of Representatives shall not be as

12  calculated according to that paragraph; instead, those members

13  shall be paid salary at the rate that existed on June 30,

14  2001.

15         Section 2.  This act shall take effect January 1, 2002,

16  and expires June 30, 2002.

19                          SENATE SUMMARY

20    Provides that, for the latter half of Fiscal Year
      2001-2002, members of the Senate and House of
21    Representatives be paid a salary that is the same as that
      in effect in Fiscal Year 2000-2001.
