  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to Medicaid funding; providing

  3         guidelines for the amount of state funds to be

  4         appropriated for Medicaid programs for the

  5         remainder of fiscal year 2001-2002 and for

  6         fiscal year 2002-2003; providing an effective

  7         date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11         Section 1.  Neither the amount of state funds

12  appropriated for Medicaid programs for the remainder of the

13  2001-2002 fiscal year nor the amount of state funds

14  appropriated for Medicaid programs for the 2002-2003 fiscal

15  year may be less than the amount originally appropriated for

16  such programs for the 2001-2002 fiscal year.

17         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

18  law.

21                          SENATE SUMMARY

22    Provides that the minimum amount of state funds to be
      appropriated for Medicaid programs for the remainder of
23    fiscal year 2001-2002 and for fiscal year 2002-2003 may
      not be less than the amount originally appropriated for
24    such programs for fiscal year 2001-2002.
