  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to terrorism response;

  3         establishing a council to coordinate resources

  4         and deal with acts of terrorism; providing for

  5         membership; providing purposes; providing an

  6         effective date.

  8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  9

10         Section 1.  A council is established to coordinate

11  available resources in this state and to create an action plan

12  to deal with acts of terrorism in this state. The council

13  shall consist of the Lieutenant Governor, who shall be the

14  council chair, and one representative each from the Department

15  of Health, the pharmaceutical industry, nonprofit hospitals

16  and for-profit hospitals, and the law enforcement community.

17  The purpose of the council is to ensure that the state can

18  provide, on short notice, medical attention, housing,

19  security, and law enforcement to the people of this state in

20  the wake of any terrorist attack, action, or emergency. The

21  council shall meet at the call of the chair and shall report

22  monthly to the Governor, the President of the Senate, and the

23  Speaker of the House of Representatives.

24         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

25  law.
