14         On page 4, lines 6 through 29,
15  remove from the bill:  all of said lines
16  
17  and insert in lieu thereof:  
18         (1)  A person who is  age 65 or older or is determined
19  to be disabled, whose income is at or below 85 100 percent of
20  federal poverty level, and whose assets do not exceed
21  established limitations.
22         (2)  Pregnant women and children under age 1 who would
23  otherwise qualify for Medicaid under s. 409.903(5) and
24  children under age 18 who would otherwise qualify under
25  subsection (7) or s. 409.903(6) or (7) except for their level
26  of income and whose assets fall within the limits established
27  by the Department of Children and Family Services for the
28  medically needy.  Coverage for the medically needy is not
29  available to presumptively eligible pregnant women.  A family,
30  a pregnant woman, a child under age 18, a person age 65 or
31  over, or a blind or disabled person who would be eligible

 1  under any group listed in s. 409.903(1), (2), or (3), except
 2  that the income or assets of such family or person exceed
 3  established limitations.  For a family or person in this
 4  group, medical expenses are deductible from income in
 5  accordance with federal requirements in order to make a
 6  determination of eligibility.  A family or person in this
 7  group, which group is known as the "medically needy," is
 8  eligible to receive the same services as other Medicaid
 9  recipients, with the exception of services in skilled nursing
10  facilities and intermediate care facilities for the
11  developmentally disabled.
