14 On page 10, between lines 29 and 30,

16 insert:
17 (10)(a) To help mitigate the impact of the midyear
18 reduction in the 2001-2002 fiscal year appropriation for the
19 Florida Education Finance Program, each district school board
20 is authorized to expend in its operating budget as
21 nonrecurring funds up to 0.5 mills of its nonvoted capital
22 improvement millage levied pursuant to s. 236.25(2), Florida
23 Statutes, for the 2001-2002 fiscal year, that will produce an
24 amount not to exceed $183 per full-time equivalent student.
25 This authorized use of proceeds from this millage levy is in
26 addition to the authorized uses set forth in s. 236.25,
27 Florida Statutes, and is for the 2001-2002 fiscal year only.
28 Any proceeds from this millage levy used to replace the
29 midyear budget reduction in the Florida Education Finance
30 Program shall be transferred by budget amendment approved by
31 the district school board at a regular meeting of the school

2 (b) If the proceeds from 0.5 mills produce less than
3 $183 per full-time equivalent student in any school district,
4 the additional amount required to equal $183 per full-time
5 equivalent student shall be provided from state funds.
6 (c) If a district school board has not levied
7 sufficient millage pursuant to s. 236.25(2), Florida Statutes,
8 for the 2001-2002 fiscal year to produce $183 per full-time
9 equivalent student and the school board has other similar
10 funds available, the school board may use such funds in lieu
11 of proceeds from millage.
12 (11) This section is repealed effective June 30, 2002.
