20  Management District or his or her designee.  Each board member

21  other than the executive director of the South Florida Water

22  Management District shall hold office for a term of 4 years

23  and until his or her successor is chosen and qualifies. The

24  members of the board shall be residents of the state and

25  citizens of the United States.

26         (2)  Notice of the landowners' meeting shall be

27  published once a week for 2 consecutive weeks in a newspaper

28  which is in general circulation in the area of the district,

29  the last day of such publication to be not fewer than 14 days

30  or more than 28 days before the date of the election. The

31  landowners, when assembled at such meeting, shall organize by

  1  electing a chair who shall conduct the meeting. At such

  2  meeting, each landowner shall be entitled to cast one vote per

  3  acre of land owned by him or her and currently classified by

  4  the property appraiser pursuant to section 193.461, Florida

  5  Statutes, as agricultural land located within the district for

  6  each supervisor to be elected. A landowner may vote in person

  7  or by proxy in writing. A fraction of an acre shall be treated

  8  as 1 acre, entitling the landowner to one vote.

  9         (3)  Notice and conduct of the meeting shall be as

10  prescribed by subsection (2).  The annual landowners' meeting

11  to elect Supervisors shall be held in July.
