  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the official Florida

  3         Statutes; amending ss. 11.2421, 11.2422,

  4         11.2424, and 11.2425, F.S.; adopting the

  5         Florida Statutes 2002 and designating the

  6         portions thereof that are to constitute the

  7         official law of the state; providing that the

  8         Florida Statutes 2002 shall be effective

  9         immediately upon publication; providing that

10         general laws enacted during the 2001 regular

11         session and prior thereto and not included in

12         the Florida Statutes 2002 are repealed;

13         providing that general laws enacted during the

14         October 22-November 1, 2001, and November

15         27-December 6, 2001, special sessions and the

16         2002 regular session are not repealed by this

17         adoption act.

19  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

20

21         Section 1.  Section 11.2421, Florida Statutes, is

22  amended to read:

23         11.2421  Florida Statutes 2002 1999 adopted.--The

24  accompanying revision, consolidation, and compilation of the

25  public statutes of 2001 1997 of a general and permanent

26  nature, excepting tables, rules, indexes, and other related

27  matter contained therein, prepared by the Office of

28  Legislative Services under the provisions of s. 11.242,

29  together with corrections, changes, and amendments to and

30  repeals of provisions of Florida Statutes 1997 enacted in

31  additional reviser's bill or bills by the 1999 Legislature, is

  1  adopted and enacted as the official statute law of the state

  2  under the title of "Florida Statutes 2002 1999" and shall take

  3  effect immediately upon publication.  Said statutes may be

  4  cited as "Florida Statutes 2002 1999," "Florida Statutes," or

  5  "F.S. 2002 1999."

  6         Section 2.  Section 11.2422, Florida Statutes, is

  7  amended to read:

  8         11.2422  Statutes repealed.--Every statute of a general

  9  and permanent nature enacted by the State or by the Territory

10  of Florida at or prior to the regular 2001 1997 legislative

11  session, and every part of such statute, not included in

12  Florida Statutes 2002 1999, as adopted by s. 11.2421, as

13  amended, or recognized and continued in force by reference

14  therein or in ss. 11.2423 and 11.2424, as amended, is

15  repealed.

16         Section 3.  Section 11.2424, Florida Statutes, is

17  amended to read:

18         11.2424  Laws not repealed.--Laws enacted at the

19  October 22-November 1, 2001, and November 27-December 6, 2001,

20  special sessions and the 2002 November 1997 special session,

21  the 1998 regular session, and the 1999 regular session are not

22  repealed by the adoption and enactment of the Florida Statutes

23  2002 1999 by s. 11.2421, as amended, but shall have full

24  effect as if enacted after its said adoption and enactment.

25         Section 4.  Section 11.2425, Florida Statutes, is

26  amended to read:

27         11.2425  Rights reserved under repealed statutes.--The

28  repeal of any statute by the adoption and enactment of Florida

29  Statutes 2002 1999, by s. 11.2421, as amended, shall not

30  affect any right accrued before such repeal or any civil

31  remedy where a suit is pending.
