  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to medical school eligibility

  3         of United States military academy students or

  4         graduates; repealing s. 458.3147, F.S., which

  5         requires admission to any medical school within

  6         the State University System of any Florida

  7         resident who is a student at or graduate of any

  8         of the United States military academies and has

  9         complied with specified conditions, and which

10         limits such admissions; providing an effective

11         date.

13  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

14

15         Section 1.  Section 458.3147, Florida Statutes, is

16  repealed.

17         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

18  law.

21                          HOUSE SUMMARY

      Repeals current provision of law which requires admission
23    to any medical school within the State University System
      of any Florida resident who is a student at or a graduate
24    of any of the United States military academies and who
      has command approval to apply to medical school prior to
25    assignment to the medical corps of the United States
      military, and which limits such admissions to two such
26    applicants per academic year.
