14 On page 77, lines 8-20, delete those lines

16 and insert:
17 Section 35. (1) The Department of Revenue and the
18 Office of State Courts Administrator may pursue authorization
19 to use funds available under Title IV-D of the Social Security
20 Act, 42 U.S.C. ss. 651 et seq., for the purpose of providing
21 mediation services in Title IV-D cases.
22 (2) Contingent upon a specific appropriation, the
23 Office of State Courts Administrator shall conduct a Title
24 IV-D mediation pilot study for the purpose of determining the
25 cost allocation plan for Title IV-D allowable and
26 non-allowable activities included in mediation of Title IV-D
27 cases and evaluating the potential impact of mediation on
28 Title IV-D child support cases and Title IV-D performance
29 measures, including both incentive measures and time
30 standards. The mediation services provided by this pilot study
31 will not be limited to child support, but include other

1 parenting issues as needed. The mediation pilot study
2 conducted by the Office of State Courts Administrator will be
3 implemented in consultation with and with the assistance of
4 the Department of Revenue. The Office of State Courts
5 Administrator will submit a final report on the evaluation of
6 the pilot study to the appropriate substantive committees in
7 the Senate and House of Representatives by June 30, 2004.
