17 and insert:
18 Section 15. Paragraph (e) is added to subsection (3)
19 of section 193.461, Florida Statutes, to read:
20 193.461 Agricultural lands; classification and
21 assessment; mandated eradication or quarantine program.--

23 (e) Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraph (a),
24 land that has received an agricultural classification from the
25 value adjustment board or a court of competent jurisdiction
26 pursuant to this section is entitled to receive such
27 classification in any subsequent year until such agricultural
28 use of the land is abandoned or discontinued, the land is
29 diverted to a nonagricultural use, or the land is reclassified
30 as nonagricultural pursuant to subsection (4). The property
31 appraiser must, no later than January 15, of each year,

1 provide notice to the owner of land that was classified
2 agricultural in the previous year informing the owner of the
3 requirements of this paragraph and requiring the owner to
4 certify that neither the ownership nor the use of the land has
5 changed. The department shall, by administrative rule,
6 prescribe the form of the notice to be used by the property
7 appraiser under this paragraph. However, this paragraph does
8 not apply to any property if the agricultural classification
9 of that property is the subject of current litigation.
10 Section 16. There is appropriated from the General
11 Revenue Fund to the Department of Revenue the sum of $45,000
12 for the purpose of reimbursing counties for the cost of using
13 special masters as provided in section 194.035, Florida
14 Statutes, as amended by this act.
