13         Senate Amendment 

14         On page 3, line 18, after the period,

15

16  insert:  This provision shall not prohibit a district school

17  board from establishing the office of an independent inspector

18  general for that district. An independent district inspector

19  general must meet the requirements for an inspector general

20  established in s. 20.055 and shall have the authority provided

21  to inspector generals in that section.
