  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to recreational vehicles;

  3         amending s. 681.1096, F.S.; postponing

  4         expiration of the Pilot RV Mediation and

  5         Arbitration Program; providing an effective

  6         date.

  8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  9

10         Section 1.  Subsection (1) of section 681.1096, Florida

11  Statutes, is amended to read:

12         681.1096  Pilot RV Mediation and Arbitration Program;

13  creation and qualifications.--

14         (1)  This section and s. 681.1097 shall apply to

15  disputes determined eligible under this chapter involving

16  recreational vehicles acquired on or after October 1, 1997,

17  and shall remain in effect until September 30, 2006 2002, at

18  which time recreational vehicle disputes shall be subject to

19  the provisions of ss. 681.109 and 681.1095. The Attorney

20  General shall report to the President of the Senate, the

21  Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Minority Leader

22  of each house of the Legislature, and appropriate legislative

23  committees regarding the effectiveness of the pilot program.

24         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2002.

27                       LEGISLATIVE SUMMARY

28    Extends the life of the Pilot RV Mediation and
      Arbitration Program under the Motor Vehicle Warranty
29    Enforcement Act until September 30, 2006.
