13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 

14         On page 45, between lines 24 and 25,

15

16  insert:

17         Section 30.  Paragraph (d) of subsection (1) of section

18  626.785, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:

19         626.785  Qualifications for license.--

20         (1)  The department shall not grant or issue a license

21  as life agent to any individual found by it to be

22  untrustworthy or incompetent, or who does not meet the

23  following qualifications:

24         (d)  Must not be a funeral director or direct disposer,

25  or an employee or representative thereof, or have an office

26  in, or in connection with, a funeral establishment, except

27  that a funeral establishment may contract with a life

28  insurance agent to sell a preneed contract as defined in

29  chapter 497. Notwithstanding other provisions of this chapter,

30  such insurance agent may sell limited policies of insurance

31  covering the expense of final disposition or burial of an
