  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to enterprise zone designation;

  3         requiring designation of an enterprise zone in

  4         the City of Hialeah under certain circumstances

  5         notwithstanding certain limitations; providing

  6         requirements; providing an effective date.

  8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  9  

10         Section 1.  Notwithstanding the limitation in section

11  290.0065, Florida Statutes, on numbers of enterprise zones

12  within a population category, the Office of Tourism, Trade,

13  and Economic Development shall designate, upon joint

14  application by Miami-Dade County and the City of Hialeah, an

15  area within the municipality of the City of Hialeah in an area

16  bounded by 32nd Street, 21st Street, Palm Avenue, and East 4th

17  Avenue as an enterprise zone. The application must be

18  submitted by June 1, 2002, and must comply with the

19  requirements of section 290.0055, Florida Statutes, except for

20  paragraph (4)(d). The effective date of the enterprise zone is

21  July 1, 2002.

22         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

23  law.
