13         Amendment (with directory language and title

14  amendments) 

15         On page 34 of the bill, between lines 11 & 12,

16

17  insert:

18         590.02  Division powers, authority, and duties;

19  liability; building structures; Florida Center for Wildfire

20  and Forest Resources Management Training.--

21         (5)(a)  The division shall organize its operational

22  units to most effectively prevent, detect, and suppress

23  wildfires, and to that end, may employ the necessary personnel

24  to manage its activities in each unit. The division may

25  construct lookout towers, roads, bridges, firelines, and other

26  facilities and may purchase or fabricate tools, supplies, and

27  equipment for firefighting. The division may reimburse the

28  public and private entities that it engages to assist in the

29  suppression of wildfires for their personnel and equipment,

30  including aircraft.

31         (b)  The Cross City Work center shall be named the L.

  2  Peterson, Florida's sixth state forester, a native of Dixie

  3  County whose distinguished career in state government has

  4  spanned 44 years.
