  1                 Senate Joint Resolution No. ____

  2         A joint resolution proposing the creation of

  3         Section 19 of Article VII of the State

  4         Constitution; declaring policy regarding sales

  5         and use tax.

  7  Be It Resolved by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  8

  9         That the creation of Section 19 of Article VII of the

10  State Constitution is agreed to and shall be submitted to the

11  electors of this state for approval or rejection at the next

12  general election or at an earlier special election

13  specifically authorized by law for that purpose:

14                           ARTICLE VII

15                       FINANCE AND TAXATION

16         SECTION 19.  The state sales and use tax shall be

17  applied to selected services, and the rate of the sales and

18  use tax shall be reduced.

19         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following statement be

20  placed on the ballot:

21                     CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT

22                     ARTICLE VII, SECTION 19

23         STATE TAX POLICY.--Proposing an amendment to the State

24  Constitution to apply the state sales and use tax to selected

25  services and to reduce the rate of the sales and use tax.
